This is a long shot but, I'm searching for a house or some acres in the woods, undeveloped land, for a possible land contract.
I'd been approved for $60000 for a mortgage last year but there's nothing within that range around here that doesn't need some work.
Some work is fine, personally speaking, but the loan I was looking at doesn't allow for work needed.
If I can pay $2000 a month for rent, I can sure as hell pay less for a mortgage or a land contract/rent to own.
And if it's going to be mine, I'll pay it off faster.
I'm just looking for a place I can stay permanently and make improvements on, have a garden, have a pet without asking permission or paying an ungodly price added to my rent every month.
Again, this is a long shot, but just thought I'd put it out there.
