Aspirus is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician in Ontonagon, MI to join our Medevac team!
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) works under the direction and supervision of the Manager - MedEvac and/or their designee and is responsible for providing safe, comprehensive care to critically ill and/or injured patients of all ages.
Care is provided in the pre-hospital setting and during inter-facility transports by understanding and applying the specialized principles and techniques of transport practice, emergency procedures and diagnostics.
Hours: Part Time or .
6 FTE, 48 hours every 2 weeks, varied 12/24 hour shifts
Experience/Qualifications
Knowledge of emergent patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Completion of a National Registry or state approved educational program for EMT.
Two years of pre-hospital EMS experience recommended.
Active Wisconsin EMT license.
Active Michigan EMT license.
Possesses an active Wisconsin and Michigan EMT license or obtain dual license within 120 days of hire.
Possess a valid driver’s license in the state of residency.
Current EMT National Registry licensure preferred.
Certified Emergency Vehicle Operations (CEVO) or Emergency Vehicle Operating Certification (EVOC) or training.
Competencies specific to MedEvac must be completed upon hire and annually.
Must maintain CPR and all certifications as stated in the MedEvac Scope of Service.
Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing.
An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
