The Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson seeks a full-time Administrative Assistant to join their Home Medical Equipment team in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
The Administrative Assistant’s primary role is to ensure smooth delivery, service, and billing of home medical equipment, respiratory products, and supplies by providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, caregivers, and co-workers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO.
Maintain professional communication at all times with patients, families, caregivers and hospital staff in order to manage intake (answer phones, receive faxes, collect patient and referral source information, input data, print tickets, assemble charts and process paperwork).
Coordinate all patient information for retail and walk-in equipment requests; process orders received via phone and fax.
Provide assistance and instruction to patients, families and caregivers about equipment and supplies.
Verify Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coverage information; communicate with insurance companies on authorizations.
Monitor office and medical supply inventory.
Develop and maintain working knowledge of current products/services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and federal/regulatory guidelines.

21 per hour starting pay based on experience.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 3 years clerical and/or medical office experience required.
Previous experience working with medical insurance billing, home medical equipment and/or medical terminology preferred.
Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment or Home Medical Equipment helpful.
Proficiency with computers, data entry, and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, email) required.
Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor that ensures trust, competence and compassion amongst others while working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-hire drug screening and background check.
