Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Radiology, consistently produces high quality ultrasound images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
Responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, positioning patients and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using Sonography.
Assists the physician with invasive procedures performed in Ultrasound.
Rotates through the call schedule as needed.
Responsible for oversight of policy and procedure by maintaining vascular program/certification.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited program of Diagnostic Medical Sonography with an A.

S.
or B.
S.
or graduate of an accredited program of Radiologic Technology with a certificate, A.
S.
or B.
S.
ARDMS registered in Abdomen and/or OB/GYN and RVT required.
Must possess a moderate level of analytical ability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must work with established procedures and methods, but is expected to prioritize assignments, deviate from schedules or alter the sequence of steps as necessary to obtain desired results.
Must provide for the physical and emotional well-being of others limiting harm, discomfort, embarrassment and inconvenience.
Must consider responsibility for fiscal, public and employee relations allowing only brief delays in service and some unnecessary expenditures.
May be required to occasionally plan the work of, assign work to, and instruct other employees.
Must occasionally perform tasks involving offensive patient care activities, where it is possible to be exposed to disagreeable odors.
Ability to work independently, while managing several projects simultaneously.
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
Must be able to speak the English language fluently.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must have the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
