We are seeking a *QUALITY COORDINATOR* in Keweenaw, MI at *Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital*.
The Quality Coordinator provides leadership, guidance, and resources in the design, implementation, and evaluation of continuous quality improvement activities and patient safety activities.
Monitors the quality of documentation and services provided and facilitates recommendations for improvement.
Reports to the medical staff, administration, hospital departments and committees as appropriate on defined programs and areas of responsibility.
Participates in physician peer review, medical record analysis and performance improvement activities.
Participates in system-wide quality initiatives.
*Experience/Qualifications*
* Possesses a broad-based knowledge and understanding of Quality/Performance Improvement philosophy and methodology, and application of such in the clinical setting.
Maintains familiarity with cost containment and utilization review objectives.
* Demonstrates ability to develop outcomes and performance measures
* Ability to lead work groups and teams to accomplish designed goals and objectives
* Possesses a broad knowledge of medical and nursing patient care as well as medical record management
* Possesses interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact efficiently with all levels of hospital personnel, conduct educational programs, and provide advice and counsel regarding Quality program and policies.
* Experience in Quality Improvement activities preferred.
* Possesses general understanding and knowledge of:
* Quality Assessment, Continuous Quality Improvement principles
* A general understanding of regulatory agencies specific to hospital operations, i.
e.
, Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, FDA, CDC, and MHA.
* Demonstrates proficiency with use of a PC and utilization of automated hospital information systems and national databases.
* Associate’s degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
* Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.
* Two years of healthcare experience required; knowledge of healthcare quality management preferred.
* Current membership in professional organizations beneficial.
* Patient care equipment, computers and office equipment.
* May have exposure to hazardous substances and infectious diseases.
