Environmental Health And Safety Manager

Education/Experience
7 or more years' experience in Environmental, Safety and/or Risk management
Additionally a 4-year degree in Environmental Safety and Health, Engineering or Chemistry.
Essential Functions, Knowledge, and Competencies
Good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively train personnel.
Well versed in State and Federal Environmental and Safety regulations for Michigan and Indiana.
Must be able to effectively investigate incidents and determine the underlying cause.
Strong computer, analytical and organizational skills
Responsibility/Authority
Manages the Environmental and Safety Programs across all Precision Edge Facilities.
Ensures the development, implementation and maintenance of the Safety and Environmental management system in compliance with all city, state, and federal regulations.
Monitors regulatory changes as they occur within Safety and Environmental regulations and provides direction to plant personnel to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Serves as the primary contact for all Safety and Environmental related enquiries and inspections across all facilities.
Ensures all necessary permits have been acquired and are current.
Identifies company safety and environmental training needs and develops/coordinates safety and environmental training programs.
Participates in product/process reviews, including job hazard analyses, operator training, etc.

Ensures all records are properly stored and maintained such as hazardous waste manifests, environmental test records, safety training etc, This incudes annual State and Federal Reporting.
In conjunction with purchasing endures SDS files are maintained and available to shop personnel to support the right to know program.
Responsible for the development of spill response plans and training.
Primary point of contact for chemical spill response and corrective action.
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the company's Business Continuity plan.

Doted line to plant Safety and Environmental personnel.
