leadership team, preferably in Marquette or Ishpeming, Michigan.

Position offers applicants the opportunity of a remote/hybrid remote work schedule after the initial 90-day onboarding and job orientation.
As a Cyber Security Manager at UPPCO, you will lead the implementation of robust security programs, safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining network integrity.
You will continuously monitor and evaluate our systems and provide recommendations to address any vulnerabilities swiftly.
This position reports to the Director of Information Technology.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
Manage and monitor UPPCO’s MDR/EDR, NDR, and IDS/IPS systems.
Collaborate with third-party Security Operation Center for round-the-clock security monitoring.
Coordinate with external agencies to respond to and mitigate cyber security incidents, providing thorough documentation and recommendations for prevention.
Maintain an inventory of IT and OT assets, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities.
Monitor alerts from E-ISAC, phishing emails, and security platforms like CrowdStrike, Darktrace, Rapid7, and Microsoft, and advise on whitelisting or blacklisting.
Ensure regular security tool maintenance on PCs, laptops, and servers.
Conduct bi-weekly vulnerability scans and recommend patch applications.
Advise on monthly cyber security training and perform semi-annual user access audits.
Conduct semi-annual audits on IT and OT firewalls and review security policies.
Coordinate annual penetration testing and conduct cyber security drills.
Generate daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reports for management.
Document IT processes and user applications for knowledge bases.
Provide helpdesk support for user issues and requests.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
6 years’ experience working in the cyber security field, or Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Defense, Digital Forensics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study preferred.
2 years’ experience managing a cyber security team preferred.
Experience working with cyber software such as CrowdStrike, MDR/EDR, Rapid7,SIEM, Darktrace, NDR, Tenable and Proofpoint helpful.
CISSP certification a bonus.
Broad understanding of computer networking and systems, and cybersecurity frameworks.
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and their practical implementation, such as the NIST and SANS, are essential.
Experience working with cyber security or IT in the electric utility industry a bonus.
Experience in an enterprise environment with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Windows servers and workstations, and VMware preferred.
Experience with security tools such as email security, endpoint security, SIEM, vulnerability management/vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, patch management, and firewalls preferred.
Solid research, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply them to a wide range of security issues.
Ability to provide after-hours and on-call support, as needed.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas in a user-friendly manner.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to travel amongst UPPCO locations (up to 20%) required.
