Position Summary:
Directs and oversees all branch activities and staff, including Retail Lenders, Personal Bankers, Teller Supervisors, and Tellers in the market.
Works closely with the Retail Banking Director in developing and implementing strategies and goals to gain market share and develop the appropriate ongoing products and services needed for the Bank’s market niches.
Works directly with customers and makes referrals to internal and third party partners.
Primary Duties & Accountabiliies: Drives growth of market share in deposits, mortgage, consumer loans and other ancillary services through delivery of Superior Customer Experience.
Engages in lending and deposit account creation personally, and through development of direct reports.
Manages branches like a small business, developing employees, maintaining service standards, fostering referral sources, manages expenses including labor expense, recommending annual budget items, and creating long term growth plans.
Coordinates the personal banking, mortgage banking, and customer service functions within the branch to emphasize excellent service and appropriate cross sell of complimentary services.
Ensures proper procedures are established and consistently followed.
Develops and tracks goals as appropriate for Retail Lenders, Personal Bankers, Teller Supervisors, and Tellers.
Makes recommendations on new or existing retail products to enhance and maintain profitability.
Builds, develops, and maintains a motivated, service minded team.
Sets goals and evaluates individual performance of direct reports.
Works with direct reports to build culture characterized by teamwork and high morale.
Assures timely communication with team and regularly communicates goals and results.
Engages in lending personally and through development of direct reports.
Originates new loans delivering professional, responsive service.
Manages an existing portfolio, including engaging in collections.
Works with appropriate areas of the bank to identify solutions for customer needs through existing products and services as well as enhancements to existing systems.
Works on new or revised product development.
Monitors monthly results to ensure goals are met and information is accurately stated.
Proactively develops business.
Actively partners with key referral sources including local realtors, developers, construction companies and other financial institutions.
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with existing and potential real estate customers.
Other duties or projects as assigned.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS: Desired Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent combination education and experience 3-5 years of proven retail and mortgage banking leadership experience 5-7 years related management experience and/or training Other Skills & Abilities Exceptional coaching and team leadership skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to interact with customers and employees positively with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality Resourceful, innovative and well organized Ability to assess problems and/or unusual situations and develop logical solutions Ability to create a positive, collaborative and motivating team environment Ability to develop and advance skills of staff Accurate with a strong attention to detail Strong sales and customer service focus Strong ethical focus Thorough knowledge/understanding of legal and regulatory matters and industry trends Performance Measures: Meets or exceeds annual goals as pre-established by the Retail Banking Director that are aligned with the Bank’s strategic plan.

Assists in the development of manuals and supporting documentation to accomplish tasks/duties inherent in this position.
Maintains educational and professional expertise through attendance at job-related seminars, conferences and workshops and involvement in professional, civic and community groups in leadership positions.
Working Conditions: Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance for personal injury.
Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required.
Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines.
Work hours are generally during normal business hours.
Unscheduled evening and weekend work may be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees.
Occasional travel between offices and out-of-town/overnight business travel may be required.
Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment.
Some bending, turning, and twisting required.
Serves as a representative of the organization at appropriate functions.
